What country code fields are available?

We provide two distinct country codes in JSON response:

  • vendor_country_code: Indicates where the vendor is based/registered

  • country_code: Shows where the service was delivered or expense occurred

How does this help expense management platforms?

  • Automatically distinguish between vendor location and expense location, giving your users better spend visibility

  • Provide accurate location data for international expense allocations and cost center tracking

  • Support multi-country tax compliance reporting with precise vendor and transaction locations

  • Enable location-based analytics and spend pattern reporting across regions

Can you give an example?

Uber trip in London, booked through Dutch entity:

  • vendor_country_code: NL (Uber's European HQ)

  • country_code: GB (expense location in UK)

DoorDash food delivery in Canada, US-based company:

  • vendor_country_code: US (DoorDash HQ)

  • country_code: CA (where food was delivered)

Amazon EU purchase shipped to France from German warehouse:

  • vendor_country_code: LU (Amazon EU headquarters)

  • country_code: FR (delivery location)

How are country codes determined?

We use advanced machine learning to determine country codes based on:

  • Document currency

  • Vendor information

  • Transaction location

  • Service delivery location

  • and many more..

What countries are supported?

We support over 200 countries worldwide, including all major business regions and territories.

What about shared currency regions?

For regions sharing currencies (like the Euro or US Dollar), we use additional data points to accurately determine the specific country codes.

Is this feature enabled for my account?

This feature is:

  • Automatically enabled for all new clients

  • Available upon request for existing clients
