How to Connect WhatsApp Business Manager with Veryfi

Connect your WhatsApp Business account to Veryfi so your users can send documents, such as receipts and invoices, to the Veryfi WhatsApp Bot for processing. The setup takes about 10 minutes and is done through Meta's Facebook Login for Business flow, which opens from your Veryfi settings.

Before you begin

Make sure you have:

  • A Veryfi account with access to Settings > Keys.

  • A Facebook account you can log in with. This account must be able to manage your company's Meta business portfolio, or create a new one.

  • Access to the business email address you will enter during setup. Meta sends a verification email to it.

  • Optional: a phone number you want to use for WhatsApp. If you don't have one, Meta can give you a free number.

Step 1: Open the WhatsApp Bot settings in Veryfi

  1. Log in to your Veryfi account.

  2. In the left sidebar, go to Settings.

  3. Select Keys. You can also go directly to https://app.veryfi.com/api/settings/keys/

  4. Scroll down to the WhatsApp Bot section.

Step 2: Start the connection

  1. In the WhatsApp Bot section, click CONNECT WHATSAPP BUSINESS ACCOUNT.

  2. A Facebook Login for Business window opens.

Step 3: Log in to Facebook

  1. If you are not already logged in to Facebook, enter your email or phone number and your Facebook password.

  2. Click Log In.

Step 4: Confirm your Facebook account

  1. Check that the message explains that Veryfi Chatbot will receive your name and profile picture, and that it can't post to Facebook without your permission.

  2. Click Continue as [Your Name].

Step 5: Review the permissions and get started

  1. On the Connect your account to Veryfi, Inc. page, review the WhatsApp Business account access Veryfi is requesting. Veryfi will be able to add or link phone numbers, create message templates, send and receive messages, assign users to your account, and access your metrics.

  2. Accept the terms of service for WhatsApp Business, Meta, and Business Tools.

  3. Click Get started.

Step 6: Enter your business information

Complete the Fill in your business information form:

  • Business name: your company name (up to 100 characters).

  • Business email: a business email you can access. You will receive a verification email here.

  • Business website or profile page: your website URL. If you don't have one, you can use one of your company's social media profile pages.

  • Country: select your country.

  • Add Address (optional): your business address.

Click Next.

Note: If you already have a business portfolio in Meta, you may be asked to select it instead of creating a new one.

Step 7: Create or select a WhatsApp Business account

  1. On the Create or select your WhatsApp Business account page, open the Choose a WhatsApp Business account dropdown.

  2. Select an existing account, or select Create a WhatsApp Business account if you don't have one.

  3. Under Create or select a WhatsApp Business profile, select Create a new WhatsApp Business profile if this is a new setup.

  4. Click Next.

Step 8: Set up your WhatsApp Business profile

Fill in the profile details:

  • WhatsApp Business account name: an internal name for the account, for example “CPG Support”.

  • WhatsApp Business display name: the name your users will see in WhatsApp, for example “Veryfi WhatsApp Bot”.

  • Category: the category that best describes your business, for example “Food and Grocery” or “Other”.

Note: Meta reviews the display name, so choose one that matches your business name or brand.

Step 9: Choose a phone number

Select one of these options:

  • Get a free WhatsApp number (recommended): WhatsApp generates a free number for you with a +1 555 prefix.

  • Add a new number: use your own phone number. You will need to verify it.

You will then see an Additional verification required message. This is expected: Meta reviews your business and display name, which can take up to 1 business day. During the review you can send up to 5 test messages every 24 hours.

Step 10: Review access and finish

  1. On the Review Veryfi Chatbot's access request page, check that the following permissions are listed, each with 1 WhatsApp account selected: Manage your WhatsApp accounts, Manage and access conversations in WhatsApp, and Log events on your WhatsApp business account's behalf and send those events to Meta.

  2. Review the Veryfi Chatbot privacy policy and terms.

  3. Click Continue.

Your WhatsApp Business account is now connected to Veryfi.

What happens next

  • Meta reviews your business and display name. This can take up to 1 business day.

  • Until the review is approved, you can send up to 5 test messages every 24 hours.

  • When the review is approved, you will receive a confirmation email from Meta, and the bot is ready for full use.

  • You can update your profile information at any time in Meta Business Suite > Settings.
